Till we meet again..

YES! IM BACK FRM HOLIDAYS! Guess what? Im not gonna blog about my trip! LOLS!

Anyway, today's a special day. Guess what day is it?

On 26th Dec 2004, a major tsunami occurred. Haha, don't know why, I think I'll nvr ever forget this day (though Im not affected by it at all!)

Anyway, I went for GECO meeting tonight. We broke into groups to plan for the coming chalet activities. At first I was quite reluctant to be in the Nightwalk committee cos I didn't like the idea (there'll be quite a no. of problems with nightwalk u see! e.g. safety, scare ppl in the public??)

In the end, we modified the idea of nightwalk into CRIME SCENE! Hoho! So ppl jsut have to ask the characted qsns regarding the murder and find out who's the real murder. Hehehehh! Our committee consists of Limqing, Limyang, Moses, Wendy, Kuangit, Tricia and me (and perhaps Wangyi)! We got more and more high as we discussed the plot! Trust me, it's not gonna be lame. I think it's a very well-thought plot! Sounds really exciting! HAHA! Oh man! Im looking forward to chalet!!!

I wish I could stay in Hongkong longer... Not only the weather is nice, the streets and houses are cozy, the people there are warm and I've a thing in Hongkong guys! HAHA! Okay, I also think that Hongkong girls are quite good-looking. I was even telling Jeanette that I don't mind migrating to Hongkong or marrying a Hongkonger. LOLS! OH! I LIKE HONGKONG DRAMAS TOO! HAHA! Perhaps this is why I got so excited when I saw some Hongkong stars filming. Although I didn't get to see those whom I like, being able to see the stars is good enough! heehee!

GECO CHALET!!!!

WAAAA HAVENT BLOGGED FOR AGES! LOL! SO MUCH TO UPDATE!! Ok, shall begin with NAC Competition.

NAC Competition Finals

Was very nervous when I first woke up. I wasn't even that nervous the previous night! Haha! At the CC, we went through Li Shan Yin for several times as usual. After that, Rozie and Moses gave our group a talk, like some pre-competition mental preparation. haha. And Rozie gave us a card each! How sweet of her! Sherry and I were guilty cos we actually planned to get smth for her but we forgot. Sighs...

Had Char Siew Rice for lunch again, and for the last time... Unfortunately, the bus came late, so Qinkai and Rozie's groups reached Yong Siew Toh late. On our way there, smth happened to Kuangit's bao sheng, and once of its notes can't be played. Once we reached the dressing room, Rozie supervised our tuning of our instruments, while Kuangit tried to repair his sheng.

In the end, his sheng couldn't be repaired, so he had to sight-read the bao sheng parts on his zhong yin sheng! On stage, impromptu, and it's competition finals! At backstage, I was super nervous. I was very scared that I'd screw up bars 137, 203 and 275. It's finals you see! It'll be so scary if Im the one who deprived my group of the top prize. Thanks to Rozie who was always there, giving us support and encouragement! It helped! (:

Finally THE MOMENT came. I took on xls's advice, that is to think of the notes that you're playing when you're feeling very nervous or when you feel lost. Front part, an 'accident' happened. Haha, shant dwell on it. At least we managed to get back after the 'accident'. Kuai ban was good! Perhaps I was so scared of mistakes that I played very catiously and I didn't fang4 kai1. Didn't make any mistakes, but I didn't feel as shuang3 as normal practices. I felt very happy after performing cos I didn't make any mistakes! And many ppl said our bar 275 was good! YAY!

ROZIE'S GROUP! 必胜!<3

After combined ensemble was the percussion ensemble's finals. Zham!'s Gu Hun was cool! Hehehehh... YQP's still as shuai as ever and Symphonic's chong tian pao was awesome! :) The entire GECO went crazy after the competition ended. We were all cam-whoring outside the concert hall and screaming like mad! And the guys were doing dao pok IN THE PUBLIC! So unglam lah! HAHA! Then we had Canadian Pizza for dinner!

unglam photo of GE guys... -.-

At first we wanted Rozie to be the representative of our group to collect the prize, but due to some reasons, she refused and somehow, I ended up being our group's representative. It was really horrifying experience I tell you. I could understand how the singing competitors felt during the results show. DAMN SCARY! Fortunately Derek was with me (he was the representative of his group). We were so nervous at backstage that we kept bombarding the backstage i/c with queries as to how we should walk, what to do etc. HAHA! As there were five teams that got into finals and there're only 3 teams that will clinch the top 3 prizes, we were so scared that if we werent top 3, we would have to stand there throughout which is very embarrassing. We were so nervous that we kept talking on stage. HAHAHA! I think the emcee was very mean lah! Kept us in suspense. Derek was so scared that he kept telling me,"人越来越少了,怎么办!" HAHA! Well, here's the result...:

Combined Ensemble
Jingying - Honourable Mention
TPWCCCO - Third
coNBrio - Second

Percussion
Zham! - Third
YQP - Second

(these are results of teams that are 'related' to me haha!)

YAY CONGRATS TO EVERYONE! :D

OH! There were some funny incidents that happened after comp. HAHA!

Funny incident 1:

We were all waiting to load the big instruments onto the lorry...

Enzon: Eh Sheila! Can I load my guzheng on the lorry?
Sheila: Can, if you think it's safe!
Enzon: Can! No problem! My guzheng is very good!

[so he went to load his guzheng onto this pick-up which was alrdy parked at the loading bay]

Enzon: Eh Sheila! Where's our lorry? I loaded our guzheng onto this pick-up and the uncle chased me away cos he said it's not ours!
Sheila: OH NO! That's not our lorry! I'm so sorry that I didn't tell you our lorry isn't here yet!

LOLS! I'm so sorry to have embarrassed him! HAHAHA!

Funny incident 2:

All of us had to clear the dressing room, so we had to take whatever was left in the room. Yonghui was carry 3 erhus and she had difficulty in squeezing her way through the bus. So I offered help to carry one of the erhus.

Yonghui: Ehh! I don't know whose erhu that is!
Sheila: Haha nvm lah! I also don't know where's mine! We shall look for the owners when we're back in the CC.

[I took a look at the erhu case...]

Sheila: EHH! THIS IS MY ERHU!!!
Yonghui: HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Back in the CC, we had this mini 'thank you session' to thank people who made contributions to this competition. AND WE WENT HOME :D!

Though we didn't get what we all aimed for, I'm still very happy cos not only I've learnt a lot a lot from this competition, I've also enjoyed being a part! I hope everyone won't be very sad cos of the competition results, cos I'm sure we had many happy moments through the process, hadn't we? I bet we're the happiest groups among all the teams! :D Moreover we've done our best! We still have concert! We shall create more wonderful memories then!

This is my favourite photo! GECO QUAN JIA FU! It's so nice lah! Look at Enzon, he actually jumped at the right time, that's y he managed to appear in the middle of the photo at the last row! HAHA! Yesterday, I've also found out something really funny about this photo! Try enlarging it!

Can you spot someone lying on the floor? Yup, that's none other than SHUNTA GOH! HAHAHAHAHA! I THINK IT'S SUPER HILARIOUS COS NONE OF US REALISED HIS EXISTENCE IN THE PHOTO UNTIL HE TAGGED HIMSELF IN THE PHOTO ON FACEBOOK! HAHA!

12:23 PM

Till we meet again..

Wang Jian Ming's masterclass!

The next day, I went for Wang Jian Ming's masterclass! YAY! MY IDOL! His masterclass was supposed to be on composing, but sadly he changed the contents and it ended up like a normal erhu masterclass. Well, at least I managed to gain insights on Diyierhu, esp from the composer's perspective. THANK YOU KUANGIT FOR GIVING ME HIS COMPETITION PROGRAMME BOOKLET! (cos i was looking for smth which wang jian ming could sign on) AND TADA! I GOT HIS AUTOGRAPH! HAHA! I bet Qinkai, Rachel, Yanliang, Wendy, Lixian and Kuangit must have thought I was crazy over him.

YAY!

Had PEPPERLUNCH for dinner! :D

12:20 PM

Till we meet again..

MONDAY! My first ever HCCO prac.

The morning was very CHILLY! (hahaha! look nette!) Wei lao shi (my pri sch yqp instructor) saw me and said, "诶,你们都毕业啦?" HAHA! Lan lao shi (the erhu instructor) asked if any of us took part or watched the nac competition. Limqing/yang and I said we took part in both the solo n ensemble categories. He asked if we think the compeititon was 公平, but I misheard it as 容易, so I shook my head... Sighs. And I think because of me, he talked for the entire xiaozu on how unfair competitions are. LOL...

Had lunch with Tricia, Kuangit and Songsim at Prince. We chatted a lot. After that, we even went to nanyang to continue chatting. And after that, we had dinner tgt. It was really crazy lah, cos we actually chatted for one whole day. Then we made Wendy and Songsim (the solo cat prize winners) to treat us to Island Creamery! HEHEHH!

(Nette is waiting to use the com... HAHAHA!)

12:19 PM

Till we meet again..

OK LAST THING! CO CAMP!

STUCK with Chewfei most of the time. HAHA! Was expecting Mrs Ee to comment a lot on nac competition, but she only talked about the solo winners in nyco. Haha, at least Shawn got to wave the YQP's trophy before everybody. Hehehh...

Went to Bukit Timah food Centre for breakfast with Shawn and Chewfei. I committed a 'grave mistake' for ordering Avocado juice! It tastes very horrible! So I decided to pack it and take my time to drink. Put the packet on the table. Unfortunately/Fortunately the fan blew at it, it fell and spilled all over the table. My wallet was soaked with the juice. So gross lah. But it's like a blessing in disguise cos I didn't have to drink anymore. Hehh...

Played games with the juniors at night. At first when we played 'Macdonalds', Jieshin and Sunyang were always the last two but Sunyang (representative of Ruanliu) always won. So we blamed Jieshin (in a joking way) for being a disgrace to xianyue. HAHA! The we played Simon says...

Yiping: Yiping says sit on the benches.
(Everyone (mostly from ruanliu) sat on the benches)
Yiping: Yiping says exchange slippers with another person.
(Everyone followed her instruction)
Jieshin: Aiyah! I give up lah! My slippers are wet!
Yiping: Haha! Nvm, exchange with me then!
(So Jieshin stood up to wear Yiping's slippers. Even after wearing, she was still standing while the rest were sitting.)
Yiping: OI! SIT DOWN!
Sheila: EHHH! YIPING SAID SIT DOWN WITHOUT 'YIPING SAYS' AND YET ALL OF YOU STILL REMAINED SEATED EXCEPT FOR JIESHIN! YAY! JIESHIN WON!
Hanqing: YAY! JIESHIN FINALLY DID OUR SECTION PROUD!
Xianyue: *REJOICE*

HAHA! I think I've officially became a pig. Cos I was one of the first to sleep and I was the last to wake up. HAHA! Stupid Hanqing pulled my sleeping bag to the middle of the room while I wanted to continue sleeping. Argh.

Later in the morning, Layting and Szemin came to join us. We stayed a while for the JB school CO immersion. They actually performed yang guang qi zou, with 20+ ppl! Mrs Ee suggested that Szemin and I should go join them but we didn't want cos we haven't touched that piece for quite some time. Hehh...

Went for HCCO prac after lunch. It was a little stressful sitting next to Randy but it was also a good thing cos you won't 'get lost forever'. haha! By the time we went back to ny, they were having xiaozu followed by huibao. Kuangit managed to sneak into M401 during huibao. In the middle of huibao, I got bored and fell asleep :P Layting, Laiweng, Szemin and Chewfei also got bored, so we sneaked out of the room. Szemin took out the packet of Ruffles which Adela gave us and we ate as we chatted. Then we went to the swing. Hehh, the place where I relieve my stress... Kuangit and Laiweng joined us later.

Then we migrated to the 'wheel swing'. When I realised that the swing that I was on had a loose screw, I stopped swinging and took a walk around the school with Chewfei. The walk brought back memories of our daily exercise! Cos we always jogged by that route! Haha, I realised that we have talked a lot during the camp!

She has also asked a question that set me to ponder a lot. She asked us, "What's the point of joining CO in JC?" This question really makes sense, cos we may not become professionals in the future and we may not even continue CO when we're much older... I kept thinking about it, then I found an answer for myself! I realised that all along, I've been playing CO (i.e. joining GECO, MOECO Camp, HCCO) cos I like it and I enjoy it. This is where I find my joy. So perhaps for me, even if what Im doing may be a waste of time or may be fruitless, I will still do it as long as I'm happy with it. (: I remember Mrs Ee once said that the future is unpredictable. You cant determine what's going to happen if you don't take the step. Perhaps we shouldn't worry too much about our future, just take one step at a time and we'll eventually discover what we really want. (:

Whoa, time flies man... I cant believe that I'm flying tmr! HAHA! I SUDDENLY FEEL EXCITED ABOUT IT! OK! I'VE UPDATED MY BLOG PEOPLE! :D

(nette is waiting for the com impatiently... HAHAHAH!)

ERHU OPEN CAT IS SUCH AN EXCITING MATCH! HAHA!

There were so many people (mostly from ge) who went to watch the erhu open finals. HAHA! Even zls said, 'HAHA! so many ge ppl came to watch uh!'

QINKAI'S YI ZHI HUA WAS SUPERB! OH WAIT! His Diyierhu was even proer. Although he didnt catch his bow in time after the hit qin tong part, he could still catch up with the kuai ban after that! That was really amazing! HE IS MY IDOL! OR RATHER, HE'S GODLY! CONGRATS FOR BEING THE FIRST FIRST PRIZE WINNER OF GECO!

Shunta's very good too! He alrdy started sweating since his first piece! Sadly, the adjudicator had to press the bell to stop him cos he exceeded the time limit. Seriously, he shouldn't have bowed after his first piece. Oh well, he still got second eventually. HAHA!

Junkai has super fast fingers! Wei Leong thinks that he played his Diyierhu last kuai ban at 200 bpm. HAHAHA! CRAZY LAH!!!

Wanhua's very cute, with her big white-framed specs! HAHA! She kept smiling lah! HAHA! Glad that you took Szemin's advice to fang4 dian4 to the adjudicators! HAHAHA!

HUILING's the best pianist in our opinion! I agree lah, considering that she's also an erhu player, she's more familiar with the pieces than any of the other pianists. OH! And Randy is the best page turner! HAHA! He sat extremely straight and he looked very serious! Wei Leong or Derek even commented that he was more serious than the competitors! HAHAHAHA!

Shunta and Qinkai played so well that we had a hard time thinking who'll clinch first. In the end, we said either Huiling or Randy will get first, for being the best pianist and page turner respectively. HAHA!

After the results were announced, Yishan and I chiong-ed to TPWCC for prac. Rozie pracced xianyue first. I'm really scared that we may lose cos of me. Esp bars 137, 203 and 275. Very stressful. ): I think Shunta is a very good leader, esp for bar 275 (Hope he doesnt see this or it'll boost his egoism again). I think our bar 275 became more qi2 today! We're improving! Towards the end of prac, I was so tired that I kept playing wrongly even though I reminded myself not to do so. Moral of the story, I should get plenty of rest so that I can perform better tmr! hohoho!

We also realised smth really amazing. All the second prize winners (except for Denise) are in Rozie's group (e.g. Limqing, Wendy, Shunta and Jeremy). HAHAHA! CONGRATS TO ALL THE PRIZE WINNERS ANYWAY! :D

TMR'S OUR LAST DAY! Must treasure the last chance we're playing this tgt! JIAYOU EVERYBODY! JIAYOU YQP TOO! STAY SHUAI! HAHAHAHA!

GECO! <333333

Hoho, shall update on the recent pracs.

Monday was EXTREMELY cold! It's also Hari Raya. The CC was supposed to be closed, but we managed to get the keys, so we had the entire CC! hoho! That's also the day when I found a lot of coins. At first, I saw a twenty cent coin on my score stand. After forwarding for a few steps, I found a ten cent coin on another stand. Then I went to the toilet and found a fifty cent coin and a five cent coin. When prac was about to end, I found another twenty cent coin. LOL! MY LUCKY DAY! Sherry even said she hoped I would find a fifty dollar note. HAHAHAH! OH! And smth disastrous happened to Szemin's zhonghu.

LOOK>>>>

The head of the zhonghu hit the paigu very lightly when she put it down. The strings loosen and very soon, the qin tong detached itself from the qin gan and fell onto the ground. We realised that the zhonghu's bottom screw was alrdy loose. It has been depending on the strings to keep everything in tact. This is why the qin tong fell right after the strings loosen. Luckily it happened now and not right before competition. HEHEHH....

Attempted to revamp GECO blog and it's done! HEHEHH! KUDOS TO ME! :D

Tuesday! Met Heeai at J8 for lunch! First time we met ever since o'lvl chinese paper. She bought me a box of chinese cookies (is that how it's called?), a cool notebook and a creatively-designed ruler. Really like it, THANK YOU HEEAI! :D Went ge after lunch with Heeai. Rozie pracced the erhus first, cos she added some stuff in the bar 170 part. Felt a little angry with myself cos I just couldnt play well for the bar 203 portion. Sucks. Worse still, Rozie reduced the speed for bar 275 by a lot. It's so slow that it becomes a challenge to be together and to do crescendo in 4 beats. Makes our intonation sucky too! Argh! I really hate that part, so torturous! I could finally feel the difficulty of this piece. Well, at least Sherry and I have memorized our scores! KUDOS TO US! :D:D:D

Wednesday! Went to esplanade to catch erhu youth finals. I overslept today, so I reached there late. When I reached, it was Yanliang's turn. Watched his Di Yi Er Hu from the tv outside the studio. His last part was EXTREMELY FAST! He started fast and he even rushed! Amazingly, he could still play at that speed! Limqing was exceptionally good today! Though her mistakes in Di Yi Er Hu freaked me out! Generally, she was impressive! :D Her Diyierhu was so good that the audience applauded unknowingly when they're only allowed to applaud after the second piece! HAHA! Anyway, CONGRATS TO YANLIANG, JESSICA AND LIMQING! :D

Tricia, Layting, Szemin and I went to the CC after a little window shopping at Marina Square. Pracced our finals' pieces. Trish, Szemin and I pracced bar 93 tgt. Before prac began, Sherry gave us a briefing on what'll be going on on this Sat. When she said 'hang around', our group actually did the 'hanging' action together! HAHAHA! GOOD CHEMISTRY! :D I think today's prac is productive. We've improved a lot! :D:D And I could feel myself submerging into the music! OH! Rozie also told us the origin of this piece. Szemin and I agreed that this song has a meaningful background. It really deserves to be the top 2 piece. Perhaps it's the synopsis that made us understand the piece better. I love our kuai ban, but still hate 275!

I think Layting, Szemin and I have very good chemistry! LOL! Don't wanna elaborate on what happened today. I seriously think we have the potential in becoming the next Charlie's Angels! HAHAHAHHAHA! I hope our plan works tmr! ;)

PS: I hope we'll get to perform in prize winner's concert! :D:D:D

Am I too tired, laughed too much or is the malaria pill effect still on? I've been having nightmares almost every night.

Like last night, I don't know why I dreamt that I was in a certain part of China in the olden times and there was a massacre. (can't rmb who I was with) I, together with a few other ppl, had to run all the way from this area to another area (cos modern transportations werent invented that time u see) just to escape from the massacre. I was almost killed by the clan. -.-

Last Saturday, I even dreamt that I was possessed and I went around hurting ppl, uncontrollably. It was really scary cos it's so violent and bloody. After that, I also dreamt that my father got cancer (touch wood lah!). Sigh. For the next few nights, I know my dreams were as bad as these but I just can't rmb the dream after I woke up.

Argh what's happening to me?

10:02 AM

Till we meet again..

LIFE'S GETTING INTERESTING! cos szemin and i are learning super tough pieces now. (i bet to some ppl, these r easy peasy stuff) LOL! challenging=exciting=interesting! hohoho!

ERHU OPEN IS INDEED EXCITING! I think this yr's erhu open is more competitive than the previous one. It was really nice, and I seriously don't mind watching 20 times of Tian Shan Feng Qing. Hehehh! Oh well, CONGRATS TO QINKAI, SHUNTA, JUNKAI AND WANHUA for getting into finals! :D:D:D

After today, I kinda know how teachers pick zhonghu players. HAHAHHAHA! I realised all the zhonghu players exert a lot of strength when they play. Perhaps this is why I've never been a zhonghu player before (except for once) lol.

Ester's my new idol. I've been looking forward to her performance today cos I know she worked extremely hard for this competition. In the end, she's one of the 3 out of 9 (i think) who got into finals. And it's OPEN cat. From her, I've learnt that 'nothing is impossible if you're willing to work hard for it'. And my problem is 我经不起苦. Even Wanhua pracs till her skin peels off. If it were me, when my finger hurts a little, I'll break immediately cos I'm afraid it'll get worse and I may not be able to play properly. Sigh. One thing that I gotta change.

Ok, I shall blog abt interesting things. Smth really funny happened today. Sherry, Kuangit, Szemin, Layting, Yihui, Jeanette and I were walking frm TPY MRT Station to TPWCC. Szemin, Layting and I were leading. When we walked past the cd shop, a man nudged Szemin's arm. I don't know what he wanted, but he just resembled one of those beggars that I saw in India. And you know, we're used to avoid/ignore those beggars. Perhaps I was used to it, so I told Layting and Szemin to walk faster to stay away from him. HE FOLLOWED! Sensing that smth's not right, I accelerated much more and I even walked by the other way. Then I thought I heard Layting shout,'RUN!' from behind, so I ran. Layting and Szemin ran too! After running a certain distance, I looked back to check if everything was alright at the back. The moment I turned back, I saw Sherry and Kuangit zoom past me. Curious, Layting asked why they ran. They said they ran cos we ran. -.- After that, we began to discuss why all of us ran. HAHAHAHA! Sherry said she ran cos she saw what the man did to Szemin, so she ran to avoid that man. And she even thought he might be a flasher. HAHAHAHA! As for Kuangit, he ran cos all of us ran. Then Szemin said,'Actually I don't know what he wanted. He hasnt even spoken, but we just ran away!' LOL!!!!!!!!!! I think it would be super hilarious if he merely wanted to ask for directions. HAHAHAHHAHAA!

i wanna go for wang jian ming's masterclass! it is not eligible for prize winners only right? who wanna go with me? i wanna go and meet my idol! hahahhaha!

After this competition, I realised i've learnt a lot of things. I've known more about how a competition works, known more people, gain insights from other ppl, and most importantly, I've learnt that competition isn't everything in life. Through this, I've realised how much my friends cared for me and I'm really grateful to have you guys as my friend!

Firstly, I'd like to thank the following people for all the good luck msgs:

Chewfei, Kuangit, Sebastian, Heeai, Junyang, Yonghui, Siying, Layting, Julian, Wendy, Hazel, Jeanette, Kelvin, Yishan, Wanhua, Rachel Tan, Grace, Szemin, Kangning and Wanqing.

Special thanks to:

Julian Banana, Layting and Chewfei for your undying support! Hahahahhaha!
Wanhuawho always tried to calm me down and gave me advices! Jiayou for your open! I'll be there to support you! :D
Heeai and the four nine peeps! Thank you for being so understanding! I'm really very sorry for pangseh-ing you guys during class outings!
Jeanette for being there with me (or rather, you've always been here with me)!<3 (haha! see! i've disappointed you!)
Szemin!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THANKS A LOT A LOT for listening to my rants and accompanying me at backstage! For the first time I was more nervous than you that you had to calm me down! Oh well, nvm! Let's pawn Li Shan Yin! HAHAHAHAHHA! We shall lian mo qi and join erhu duet competition tgt! LOLS!!!!!!!

Besides, I was touched by Limqing and Limyang's...... errrr... brotherhood? no. sisterhood? no. twinshood? no such thing right? errr... SIBLINGHOOD! lol, you get what I mean! THEY'RE REALLY LOVING!!!!! Actually I was also quite sad that Limyang didn't get in. I could see that he had worked very hard cos I rmb seeing blisters on his hands and he even had to ask Rozie for a break during one of the practices as his fingers hurt. Sigh. Like what Rozie and Moses said, 比赛是残酷的。

Ahh well, I'm kinda excited for tmr's erhu open!!! I bet there'll be a block of ge ppl just like ytd! HAHAHA! OH! THERE'S RUAN OPEN TOO!!! OMG! IM REALLY EXCITED FOR TMR! COS TMR'S CATEGORIES ARE REALLY COMPETITIVE!!! I think I'm gonna camp at esplanade for all the finals (except for junior)! YAY!

I hope time will crawl. I really enjoy this moment, the peak of geco. Peak cos we get to see one another everyday, have fun and practise tgt everyday. Im sure all of us enjoy the friendships that we've forged but sadly, there'll surely be a lot of ppl who will be leaving us after the competition. So please treasure every moment that we're tgt.

CONGRATS TO HAZEL, SONGSIM AND WENDY WHO GOT INTO FINALS! (dont know who else got in, oh well, maybe i shd say congrats to whoever has gotten into finals ytd!) Wendy is damn zai lah! Participated in all three possible categories (CO ensemb, Perc ensemb and Yangqin solo) and ALL THREE WENT INTO FINALS! (haha! jeanette! another shen de shen!)

Ahhh, this is making me feel stressed. It seems like everyone around me has gotten into finals! Omg... When I flipped through the competition programme booklet, my confidence was alleviated once again. 45 ppl, do your probability calculation and you'll know how slim the chances are. Oh fine, I should just admit that Im one who has extremely low self-esteem. I cant be optimistic at all at this point of time; Im super negative about everything. Im really scared.

Oh well, I should think of ways to make me feel better.

Never get into finals =

1. Have more time to prac Li Shan Yin
2. Can go back to NYCO to help out with Chun
3. Can go and watch competition everyday, like two years ago. AND I GET TO WATCH ERHU OPEN AND YOUTH'S FINALS!!!
4. Do not have to pia Yang Guang and Di Yi Er Hu/embarrass myself with those two pieces
5. Watch movies/serials online (which I havent been doing since the start of hols)
6. Go out and play
7. Read more
8. Complete the two HCI math papers
9. Pack my messy room
10. Have more time to prepare SOMETHING:D

Meanwhile, when you're on the stage,

1. (quoted from zls, xls and Yuheng) 'Be like Shunta, imagine you're the best!'
2. (quoted from zls) 'When you're on stage, you're the eldest cos even the adjudicators have to listen to you.'
3. (quoted from szemin) 'Don't care about who's watching you! Just treat all of them as little kids!'
4. (quoted from xls) 'When you're on stage, don't be too nervous. Just try to get into your music. If you're too nervous to do that, think of the next phrase as you play.'
5. (quoted from Rozie) 'In every pieces, there's surely a certain part which you'll be afraid of, maybe becos you used to break down at that portion. Practise that part slowly and don't be afraid of it. Don't think of it so much when you're performing on stage, or you may break down once again not due to technical reasons, but your fear.'

Things to do:

1. Wear red undergarments to ward bad luck away. (HAHAHHA! JKJK! posted this for fun and I won't do that lah!! HAHAHA!)
2. Pray very hard. (prayers do help!)
3. Smile confidently when you're on stage.
4. Forget about everything and think of your music.
5. Do your best and leave no regrets.

Oh, I'm inspired all of a sudden. I recalled how I overcame the toughest moments of EOYS this year (the exam that Im most worried abt in my 16 yrs of life)! 'Leave no regrets'. YES, THAT'S IT! I told myself to do my best. Even if I didn't perform well, at least I've done my best, so I won't regret! YEAH MAN! Just do my best. Heck care about what the result's gonna be. Just don't leave any regrets! (:

GECO PAWNED!!!

Yay! I'm over the moon! Cos all four teams of GECO (inclusive of the perc ensemble) got into finals! On top of that, NYCO's YQP got into finals too! EVERYONE'S IN!!! :D:D:D GONG XI EVERYONE!

Before NAC competition, NYCO's guanyue also participated in the East Zone competition. Guess what? They were awarded the gold award!! Im very proud of them! NYCO's guanyue used to be the weakest section. But they really worked very hard. After Huipin showed me their live competition video, I was really touched. Cos I saw the hard work that they've contributed. YOU GUYS DID IT! CONTINUE TO JIAYOU FOR SYF!!! :D:D:D

Not just them, even YQP touched me, especially their very first note. What touched me was their unity and their determination to work towards a common goal. It's all shown in their music. Their taifeng was superb (no, i should say SHUAI! LOL!). Even the guys in GE admitted that the NYCO daji girls were shuai! LOL!!! In my opinion, YQP plays the best Qin Wang Dian Bing! GOOD JOB!!!

All of them have worked hard and achieved what they've aimed for. I seriously have no right to say 'I can't do it'. Look, they have all done it. I should have faith in myself and give in my best till the last second! If I get into finals, good job, cos I've made a great improvement. If I don't, I'll prac Li Shan Yin hard, esp the bar 203 section lol! I'll also return to nyco to help xyz with chun. Ok, CHIONG ALL THE WAY!!!

Btw, this I'd like to share a very nice video. Shant disclose the contents, but I'd say it's a MUST WATCH video. May be a little gruesome, but the ending is really touching. I cried when I was watching it!

MUST WATCH!!! (NC16)

WOOOHOOO! TMR (or rather later today) is competition for ensemble category! Seriously speaking, I'm more excited than nervous. HAHAHA! Time really flies. Exactly two years ago, I was playing minesweeper with Xiquan on msn. Haha! Oh man, speaking of the competition two years ago, I miss playing with Randy, Huiling, Junzhi and Chingi! I can still vividly rmb how Yulinling haunted me during the competition period!

Ahh well, this yr's fun too! With new players, new team mates! Frankly speaking, this is my favourite period of time of the year. Though we're all spammed with comp pracs, it is these hectic pracs that bring us closer together. After this comp, I think i'll miss Veronica/Lydia's sweets, the nights where the Woodlands gang go home tgt... Not forgetting Gaotian and Dominic's spastic jokes, Shunta's egoism, Veronica's gossips and racist jokes.... etcetc.I hope you guys will not leave after comp (though a large portion of the ge pop will quit after comp, as usual...)

Ahhh, perhaps I should stop being emo! In fact Im excited! Im very excited about the ensemble comp cos GE sent THREE teams! However Im more excited about the perc ensemb comp! Cos GE is competing against NY!! :O!!! HAHA! I SUPPORT BOTH! ALL THE BEST TO WHOEVER'S INVOLVED IN THE COMP TMR!

Oh, I suddenly rmb my mother called me during the announcement of results of the preliminary round two yrs ago! My mother called in the midst of the announcement and I didnt catch the announcement. After I hung the call, the GE peeps were were cheering. So I asked Nette (who was next to me) what they were cheering about. Only then I realised both teams got into finals. By the time I wanted to cheer, all of them had finished cheering. So I didn't get my chance to express my joy then. -.- I'd better remind my mother not to call me in the afternoon in case I miss the impt part of the annoncement again! LOL! On a random note, we'll be seeing Mrs Ee tmr!!! LOL!!!!!

May God bless us!!!!!!!!!! :D
